The BT Tower was, at the time of completion in 1965, the tallest tower in London, standing at a height of 189m. Designed by the Architects of the Ministry of Public Building & Works, Eric Bedford & G. R. Yeats, it was designed to support a series of microwave aerials that transmitted telecommunications from Londo to the rest of the country.
